Mrs. Porter had attained the age of 56 years, 9 months and 13 days. <br /> <br />Mrs. Porter was preceded in death by her parents; one infant daughter, Velvet Weyand; 8 brothers, James, Lester, Lloyd, Roy Lewis, Albert, Snowden, William and Wilbur Hayes; and two sisters, Ethel and Thelma Hayes.<br /> <br />Mrs. Porter was a member of the Pentecostal Church. She had worked in housekeeping and for Forum Cleaners. <br /> <br />Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Porter include: two sons, Garlan Weyand and Dweyane Weyand, both of Rolla; four daughters, Velda Honeywell and Delda Burks, both of Oklahoma; Nellie Porter and Rebecca Porter, both of St. Louis; special friend, Steve Barnett, Salem; one brother, Marvin Hayes and wife, Cathy, Rolla; one adopted brother, Obie Shelton, Rolla; four sisters, Lilly Salts and Shirley Skaggs, both of Rolla; Emily Wagoner and husband, Frank, Cuba and Mildred Warren, Rolla; one sister-in-law, Bev Hayes, Kentucky; ten grandchildren; numerous nephew, nieces and other relatives and friends. <br /> <br />Funeral services were conducted for Mrs. Porter at 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 25, 2010 in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon, with Rev. Simmons Sr. and Dorothy B. Barmes Simmons.<br />He married Connie Nickels on Nov. 7, 1963.<br />J.B. was a retired U.S. Army Captain having served from 1960-1980. She is survived by one son, Charles Cook, of Waynesville; 3 granddaughters: Debra Heatherly, Cullaman, Alabama, Carolyn Fortune, Longmont, Colorado; and Charlotte Christeson, Lebanon, Tennesse; 8 great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Mr. French was from Rotterdam, N.Y., was past 49 years old, and had lived in Rolla the last twenty five years. He held the office of County Clerk of this county for sixteen consecutive years, and until the first of the present year. He was formerly a druggist and has for a number of years done an extensive insurance business. His ailment commenced with an injury to his spine which he received a year ago and he has suffered much pain for several months. Deceased was born in the State of Virginia in 1802, and came to this city in 1868, where he has since resided. He leaves six children and an aged widow, with whom he has lived for sixty-one years. Col. Duncan (nee Miller). Her father died in May, 1897- four months before she was born.<br /><br />In April 1905 her mother was united in marriage with G.W. Lane of Waynesville, where she had resided for the past 27 years.<br /><br />She leaves besides her mother and step-father, a half-sister and a half-brother, Bertie Lee Lane and George W. Lane, Jr.. She is also survived by one grandmother, Mrs. Lucy R. Duncan, of Newburg, aged 88 years, 5 uncles, 6 aunts, and many cousins and other relatives and a host of friends throughout the country. Everett was 90 years of age.<br /><br />Everett was born on July 31, 1916 in Steelville, Missouri to his parents Harlan Sylvester and May (Luck) Moutray. Everett was united in marriage to Peggy Jean Roark on May 9, 1997.<br /><br />Everett worked for the railroad for 21 years. He was a World War II worker when Fort Leonard Wood was being constructed. He also was a carpenter. He was a self made man,<br />honest and had intrgrity. Everett loved to hunt and fish. He loved his grandkids with all of his heart. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years and got the 50 year pin for his services. He was a member of the First Baptist Church for 60 years. He was a Sunday School teacher; a deacon and a superintendent of the Sunday School classes.<br /><br />Survivors are his wife of the home: Peggy Jean (Roark) Moutray of St. James, Missouri; two stepsons: Dale Roark and wife Debbie of St. James, Missouri; and Shannon Roark of St. James, Missouri; two stepdaughters: Diana Whiteside and husband Rick of St. James, Missouri; and Shanna DeClue and husband Wayne of St. James, Missouri; one brother: Adrain Moutray of Steelville, Missouri; two sisters: Clara Gilmore of St. Louis, Missouri; and Madeline West of Leasburg, Missouri along with eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends. She was 93 years of age.<br /><br />Geneva Winstead was born April 16, 1913 at Fulton, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Douglas Reed and Sue Maddox Walton.<br /><br />On August 5, 193, she was united in marriage to Edward Oling Winstead. He entered into rest February 5, 1984. To this union three daughters were born.<br /><br />Geneva was a seamstress for many years in St. Louis and one year made formals for the Rose Bowl Queen and her court. She loved gardening and canning and in later years loved to travel.<br /><br />Geneva Winstead is survived by daughters: Jettye Boyd-Lamb and son-in-law Jerry Lamb of O'Fallon, Missouri; Shirley Blaker of California and Sue Coak and son-in-law Jerry Conrath of the State of Washington. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Carla and Andy, Rick and Alicia, Mike and Felecia, Sharon and Danny, Marty and Debbie, Stacy and Michael, Amy and Steve, and Tom. Essie was 94 years 5 months and 18 days of age.<br /><br />Essie was born on June 17, 1912 in St. Louis, Missouri to her parents Rhaney and Lola Mae (Atkins) Cruts . Essie was united in marriage to Edgar Raymond Jones on December 31, 1932 in St. James, Missouri. They lived on East Eldon for 60 years. Essie and Edgar were married for 68 years on December 31, 2000. To this union two children were born.<br /><br />Essie went to school at Vichy, Missouri first grade, and remaining school years at St. James Schools. Essie worked at Johnson-Stephen Shinkle Shoe Factory in Rolla for a time. Essie was a housewife and homemaker. She was a wonderful cook which her children, family, and friends took great pleasure in. Essie became a Christian as a young girl. Essie was an active member of the First Church of God at St. James for over 50 years. Essie served as assistant Sunday School teacher, Missionary Society member and membership director, and Willing Workers member. Essie touched our lives for good. She was 103 years of age.<br /><br />Beatrice was born on November 5, 1903 to her parents in Vichy, Missouri in Maries County. Beatrice was united in marriage to Roy G. Brown on January 12, 1927 in Rolla, Missouri. He entered into rest June 12, 1979.<br /><br />Beatrice gave her life to Christ when a young girl and lived a christian life until death. She was a loyal homemaker and always helped where she could. She always tried to scatter cheer and sunshine where ever she went. She lived most of her life on a farm north of St. James. She and her husband moved to St. James after his retirement. She enjoyed raising a big garden, canning, raising chickens and taking care of their home and farm. She was a great lady and will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.<br /><br />Surviving Beatrice is two nieces: Mary Ellen Storie of Rolla, Missouri; and Rose Brown of Kimberling City, Missouri; one cousin: Dwayne Brown of West Plains, Missouri; and one great nephew: Kenneth Story of Joplin, Missouri, along with many nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.<br /><br />Preceding Beatrice in death is her husband: Roy G. She was 85 years of age.<br /><br />Viola was united in marriage to Leonard James Blackwell on April 19, 1940 at Rolla, Missouri. To this union two sons were born.<br /><br />Alma Viola Blackwell was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She and her husband Leonard were married for sixty three years. He preceded her in death in 2003. The two of them were well-known teachers. Viola taught the children of this area for over forty years. She was 84 years of age.<br /><br />Muriel Mingo was born OCtober 4, 1922 at Beviere, Mo., the daughter of the late Robert and Mabel Emmons Oberton.<br /><br />On October 1, 1942, she was united in marriage to Anthony S. Mingo. He survives at the family home.<br /><br />She is preceaded in death by hur parents, one brother Lloyd Overton and two sisters Mary Tessaro and Dorothy Overton.<br /><br />Muriel is survived by her husband of 64 years, one son: Robin Mingo and his wife Pam of Covington, LA; Daughters: Clorinda Mingo of St. Louis, Glenda Morrison and her husband Bob of St. Louis, Karen Prebinca and husband Ron of St. Louis, Toni Moody and husband Duane of St. Louis and Tina Newhause and husband Gary of St. Louis. He was 83 years, 5 months, and 1 day of age.<br /><br />Jack was born on May 2, 1923 at Dickson, Tennessee to his parents Charles Finley and Gena Irene (Patten) Duncan. He was united in marriage to Darlein Elouise Ferris in 1948 in St. Louis, Missouri. To this union two children were born.<br /><br />Early in life he accepted Christ and was baptised into Christ and attended the Church of Christ. Jack started preaching the gospel while still in high school. He was valedictorian of his high school and college class. He taught speech and coached debate at the University of Illinois while attending on a fellowship and working on a masters degree. He received his masters in 1951. He taught speech and coached debate at the Athena Bible School 1947-1951. He continued to preach until seriously injured in 1994. He preached full time for two congregations in Huntsville, Alabama; one in Springfield, Illinois; St. Charles, Missouri and Vienna, Missouri. He preached extensively in meetings, especially in Tennessee and Missouri as well as many other states, the Island of Bermuda, and Bethleham, Israel. Jack loved to play tennis and golf; fishing; hunting; and planting trees. He loved being with family and friends; enjoyed watching sports on television and see his granddaughter play sports and play in the band. While at Abilene Christian College he was a member of Who's Who In American Universities and Colleges; Who's Who in ACC; Summa Cum Laude; Gavel Club President; East of Mississippi Club Vice President; Alpha Tau Lambda; Alpha Chi; "A" Club; Alpha Psi Omega; Evangelistic Forum; Melpomenean Players; Los Alegres, A Cappella Chorus. Jack was alway known for his warm smile and for telling everyone he met to come see us sometime. He loved life, the people around him, and the Lord. As a person who has known Jack a long time recently said, "When Jack spoke with a person, you knew that for Jack, there was nothing more important than what that person had to say." Recently Jack told Darlein, "I think we should do more to visit the sick and elderly." Darlein replied, "We are the elderly." Jack was known to praise efforts of all who participated in worship services and for his firm handshake. Many were surprised at his ability to remember names of everyone.<br /><br />Jack is survived by his wife of the home: Darlein Duncan of Vienna, Missouri; one son: Max Duncan and wife Holly of Maple Falls, Washington; one daughter: Ava Herzing and husband Randy of Vienna, Missouri; one sister: Jane Swan of Amarillo, Texas; two grandchildren: Aidan Duncan and Hannah Herzing; along with a host of friends and extended family.
