Arthur Crumbwell "Smiley" Southard of St. James passed away Thursday July 6, 2006 at the St. James Nursing Home. He was 88 Years 7 months and 24 days of age.
Arthur Southar was born November 12, 1917 in Maries County, the son of the late Oliver and Parailie Moreland Southard.
On February 22, 1941 at Broadway Baptist Church near St. James, Arthur was united in marriage to Myrtle Stockton Southard. She entered into rest January 17, 1998.
Arthur Southard is survived by Two sons: Roger Southard of St. James and Leonard Southard of St. James; Daughters: Karen Cochran and husband Elmer of St. James, Sharon Webster and husband Dan of Cuba, Verlee Foust and husband Jim of St. James and LaDonna Southard of Gladstone, Mo. ALso survived by 18 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Services
Arthur Southard will lie in state at the Jones Funeral Home Saturday July 8, 2006, from 6-8 pm.
Funeral Service will be conducted 2 pm Sunday July 9, 2006 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James with Brother Dan Bauder officiating. Pallbears will be Mike Southard, Matt Southard, Doug Clark, Bryan Webster, Jimmy Foust and Jeremy Ocgathap. Honorary Pallbearsers will be Randy Huckaba, Rodney Huckaba, Bobby Huckaba, Scott Stockton, Cain Southard, Cole Southard and Kenny Shawn Southard. Burial will be in the family plot at the Southard Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in St. James.
