Jewell Marie (Fagan) Carter 1913-2005

Jewell Marie Carter passed away at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center on December 2, 2005. She was 92 years of age.

Jewell was born in Doniphan, Missouri on November 20, 1913 to her parents: John Lewis and Lillie Bell (Wilson) Fagan. She was united in marriage to Glenn Carter on May 21,1938 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Jewell is survived by one sister: Genevieve Keay of Farmington, Missouri; two nieces: Jean McHenry of San Diego, California; Yvonne Merideth Olree of Kennett, Missouri; one nephew: Jerry Foster of Woodridge, Missouri; two great-nieces: Linda McRoy and husband Roy of San Diego, California; Laura Bold and husband Steven of Phoenix, Arizona; and one great-nephew: Steven McHenry and wife Eleanor of San Diego, California and Dear Friend: Leona Williamson and husband Larry of St. James, Missouri.

Jewell is preceded in death by her husband: Glenn Carter, on February 1, 1998; two brothers: Kenneth and George Fagan.

Services
Visitation was held at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel from 6 - 8 pm on Wednesday, December 7, 2005.

Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, December 8, 2005 at 11:00 am at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel in St. James, Missouri with Brother Aaron Jeffers officiating. Pallbearers were Bob Rivers, Ed McDonald, Lowell Wynn, George Tabor, Vernon Miller and Jerry Prewett. Music was provided by Don Davis with songs Old Rugged Cross and Amazing Grace. Burial was in the family plot in the Rolla Cemetery in Rolla, Missouri.

Memorials are suggested to the St. James Christian Church in St. James, Missouri. Cards are available at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.

All arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
