Ellen Frances (DiFiori) Holman 1921-2006

Ellen Frances Holman passed away at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center on May 22, 2006. Ellen was 85 years, 2 months and 28 days of age.

Ellen was born February 24, 1921 to her parents Ralph and Mary (Roso) DiFiori. On January 17, 1942 she was united in marriage to John Holman in Rosati, Missouri. John passed away November 8, 1976. To this union four daughters were born.

Ellen was a lifetime member of the St. Anthony's Catholic Church and President of the Confraternity of the Most Holy Rosary Ladies' Sodality. Ellen loved to garden and especially flowers. She was a loving devoted mother; giving of herself to others; and most of all doing things for others. She was a hard worker.

Ellen is survived by four daughters: Mary Clark and husband Larry of St. Louis, Missouri; Rosalie Harmon and husband Lonnie of Carthage, Missouri; Janet Spurgeon and husband John of St. James, Missouri; and Reba Stout and husband Richard of Villa Ridge, Missouri; three sisters: Margaret Stambaugh and Louise Leonard both of Rolla, Missouri; and Angie Jones of St. James, Missouri along with 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Preceding Ellen in death is her husband: John Holman; one son: Robert John Holman in December, 1946 and he was born in March, 1942; one daughter; Frances Ellen Holman; one brother: Alexander Delpra; and two sisters: Beatrice DiFiori and Jennie Milton.

Services
Visitation for Ellen was held Tuesday, May 23, 2006 from 4 - 8 PM at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel in St. James, Missouri.

Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted 10 AM on Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at the St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Rosati, Missouri with Father David Veit officiating and Administrator Sister Virginia Meyer. Pallbearers will be Larry Clark, Lonnie Harmon, John Spurgeon, Richard Stout, Larry Lee Clark, and John Spurgeon Jr. Lizz Moreland and Bob Edwards will be the vocalist with Jodi Donati as the organist. Burial will be in the family plot in the St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery in Rosati, Missouri.

All arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
