Everett E. Moutray 1916-2006

Everett E. Moutray of St. James, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at the Golden Living Center in St. James, Missouri. Everett was 90 years of age.

Everett was born on July 31, 1916 in Steelville, Missouri to his parents Harlan Sylvester and May (Luck) Moutray. Everett was united in marriage to Peggy Jean Roark on May 9, 1997.

Everett worked for the railroad for 21 years. He was a World War II worker when Fort Leonard Wood was being constructed. He also was a carpenter. He was a self made man,
honest and had intrgrity. Everett loved to hunt and fish. He loved his grandkids with all of his heart. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years and got the 50 year pin for his services. He was a member of the First Baptist Church for 60 years. He was a Sunday School teacher; a deacon and a superintendent of the Sunday School classes.

Survivors are his wife of the home: Peggy Jean (Roark) Moutray of St. James, Missouri; two stepsons: Dale Roark and wife Debbie of St. James, Missouri; and Shannon Roark of St. James, Missouri; two stepdaughters: Diana Whiteside and husband Rick of St. James, Missouri; and Shanna DeClue and husband Wayne of St. James, Missouri; one brother: Adrain Moutray of Steelville, Missouri; two sisters: Clara Gilmore of St. Louis, Missouri; and Madeline West of Leasburg, Missouri along with eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends. Everett will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

Preceding Everett in death are his parents: Harlan Sylvester and May (Luck) Moutray; five brothers: Raymond, Harold, Fennel, Doyle and Floyd Moutray and one sister: Gladine Moutray.

Services
Visitation was held on Friday, December 22, 2006 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel in St. James, Missouri.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, December 23, 2006 at 10:00 am at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel in St. James, Missouri with Pastor Boyd Gray officiating. Pallbearers were Ray Ellis, Don Gowan, Richard West, Gary West, Keith Gilmore, and Brandon Whiteside. Burial was in the family plot in the Moutray Cemetery in Steelville, Missouri.

Memorials are suggested to the First Assembly of God Church in St. James, Mo.

All arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
