Virginia Lee (Sutherland) McMillen 1928-2006

Virginia Lee McMillen of St. James passed away Thursday July 20, 2006, at her home in St. James. She was 77 years 8 months and 29 days of age.

Virginia McMcMillen was born October 21, 1928 at Granite City, Illinois the daughter of the late Swithen Anthony and Margaret Elizabeth Ogle Sutherland.

On December 18, 1948 at St Louis, Mo., Mrs. McMillen was united in marriage to Justein McMillen. Mr. McMillen entered into rest April 4, 2001.

Mrs McMillen is survived by one son; Jay McMillen and wife Teri of Joplin, Mo.; Daughters: Barbara Sue Schafale and her husband Richard of Tuscon, Arizona and Regina Lee Mertz and husband Greg of Los Alamos, NM. Along with 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. McMillen loved to play Pinochle and Texas Hold'em, she loved to read and play dominos with her friends, but mostly she enjoyed entertaining family and friends. She was an active person, she enjoyed the Mariners Club with the Presberterian Church in Cuba, Widows Support group in Rolla and helped with the Senior Companions.

Mrs. McMillen's special phrase that she will always be remembered by is "I'll be here".... she will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Services
Mrs. McMillen was in state from 4-8 p.m. Saturday July 22, 2006 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James.

Funeral Service were conducted 3:00 p.m. Sunday July 23, 2006 at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel in St. James with the Rev. Mary Arnold officiating. Hymns Amazing Grace and How Great Thou Art were sung by the congergation. Pallbears were: Greg Mertz, Jay McMillen, Richard Schafale, Mark McMillen, Roger McMillen and Tony Sutherland. Burial was in the family plot at the Keysville Cemetery in Steelville, Mo.

Arrangement are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Mo.
