Gardley Greer 1949-2009

Gardley Greer, 60, formerly of Newburg, died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009. Arrangements are under the direction of Greenlawn East Funeral Home in Springfield.

Gardley Greer, 60, of Springfield, Mo., formerly of Newburg, Mo., passed away on August 26, in his home in Springfield, after a valiant fight against cancer. He was born April 16, 1949, in Doolittle, Mo. Gardley graduated from Newburg High School in 1968, and from Linn Technical College in 1970. He was a machinist for Burlington Northern Railroad for 26 years, and a service manager for Ideal Lease for 10 years. He was a member of Harvest Church of God and enjoyed playing music, landscaping, and training and grooming dogs. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Nawasa Greer. He is survived by his daughters, Nicole Greer and Kara Greer; sisters, Valerie Mason and Vanna Tanner and her husband, Dennis; nieces and nephews, Lance Mason and wife, Carol, Krista McCullough, and Jason McCullough and wife, Karla; great-niece and nephew, Jessie and Wyatt Mason; and aunt Bertha Peck. Services will be held Saturday, August 29, 2009, at 9 a.m., in Harvest Church, 5420 N. Highway H, Springfield, MO 65803. Burial will follow the service in Hazelwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, August 28, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m., in Greenlawn Funeral Home East.
