Curtis Allen Underhill 1975-2009

Curtis Allen Underhill, 34, of Tebbetts, Mo., passed away at University Hospital in Columbia, Mo., on Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009, due to injuries he sustained in an accident at his ranch. He was born May 31, 1975, in Independence, Mo., the son of Larry Allen Underhill of Holts Summit, Mo., and Melody C. Walls Underhill of Tebbetts, Mo.

In addition to his parents, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his fiancée, Julie Vaughn of Tebbetts; one sister, Christina Detwiler and her husband, Greg, of Tebbetts; his maternal grandmother, Freda (Nanna) Walls of Jefferson City, Mo.; maternal grandfather, Earl Walls and his wife Lorraine (Cracky) of St. James, Mo.; paternal grandmother, Ada Underhill of Springfield, Mo.; his future mother-in-law, Maggie Scherr of Henley, Mo.; future brother-in-law, Adam Scherr and his wife Traci, and their children, Alison and Madelyn of Henley; one aunt, Valetta Link and her husband, Earl, of Doolittle, Mo.; several other aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends. His paternal grandfather, John Allen Underhill, preceded him in death.
He was a graduate of Jefferson City High School and Linn Technical Institute.

He was employed with the State Courts Administration in Jefferson City as a Computer Information Specialist.

He was a member of the Southridge Baptist Church in Jefferson City. He enjoyed riding and breaking horses, working on their ranch, and trail riding in the mountains. He loved life and was full of adventure.

Celebration of his life will begin at 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009, at their ranch, 5103 County Road 456, Tebbetts, Mo., with Rev. Harry Fenwick officiating. Private interment will be held at Mount Olive Cemetery in Doolittle, Mo. Memorial contributions may be made to the Curtis Underhill Memorial Fund, c/o Maupin Funeral Home, 301 Douglas Boulevard, Fulton, Mo., 65251.
