Thelma Anna Marie (Cook) Steen 1911-2005

Thelma Anna Marie Steen passed away at the St. James Nursing Home on Monday, December 5, 2005. She was 94 years of age.

Thelma was born on February 25, 1911 at St. Louis, Missouri to her parents: Charles Henry and Lola Ann (Bingham) Cook. Thelma was united in marriage to Lee A. Steen on November 28, 1931at Royal, Missouri, and to this union five children were born.

Thelma is survived by three daughters: Norma Lewis and husband Chester of Rolla, Missouri; Jacky Kaufman and husband Harold of St. James, Missouri; and Rose Hofstetter and husband Mike of St. James, Missouri; on son: Darrell Steen and wife Cindy of Portland, Oregon, nineteen grandchildren; seventeen great- grandchildren and 2 great-great- grandchildren and other extended family and friends.

Thelma is preceded in death by her husband Lee A. Steen on June 18,, 1978; an infant son: Lee Ander Steen and 2 step sons; one brother; Gayford Cook; three sisters: Hazel Baren, Gertrude Heiess, and Mary Bisso.

Services
Visitation were held on Tuesday, December 6, 2005 from 6 - 8 pm at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel in St. James, Missouri.

Funeral Services were conducted on Wednesday, December 7, 2005 at 11:00 am at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel in St. James, Missouri with Reverend Mick Thrasher and Reverend Aaron Jeffers officiating. Pallbearers were Rory Kaufman, Ronnie Kaufman, Mike Hofstetter, Clarence Hofstetter, Harold Kaufman, and Bob Valbracht. Don Chambers will provide the music. Burial was in the family plot in the High Gate Cemetery in rural St. James, Missouri.

Memorials are suggested to the Tri County Humane Society. Cards are available at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.

All arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
